Anything to counter-act the squares. Square cabinets and windows, square fridge, square island, square room. Like dry clay that smooths as it’s worked or the imperfections of a sketch. Hardness is softened. 

 

The linear lines of the shelves curve on their ends to meet back up with the wall. The veining of the marble cascades over the counter’s edge. The staccato rhythm of the tile is eased by its oval shape. The grain of the wood follows the patterns the trees make outside of the picture windows. On second glance, the hardware is scalloped. Each soft edge chipping away at the sharp ones until the space feels in balance.
